about

"A Hurricane of Artistry" — Johnny Goudie of "How Did I Get Here?"

"It’s our sincere hope that this is the future of rock." — Central Track

'Spaceman' earned Central Track's #2 spot on "The Top 100 Songs of the Year"

"In a world that could definitely use more levity and dynamism, here’s one you’ll be powerless to resist." — KXT 91.7

"It's exceptionally fascinating from start to finish - a true future rock and roll masterpiece." — Fingers On Blast

"... meant to elicit big grins and bumping heads." — KUTX 98.9

"It's both futuristic and vintage all at once" — PureVolume

"... this psych-rock dude’s onto something really special." — Central Track

"I'm excited to release my debut album Zillion. It's like I poured all my favorite records into a blender and served it up. I wrote, performed, recorded, produced and mixed the album myself so you are getting something that's potently me. Hopefully that's a good thing. It's absolutely based in my ingrained roots of psychedelic rock, but it also has some serious pop and dance sensibilities that make it super approachable. This record is as clever as it is "dumb". When you listen to it you will understand what I mean. The timing is perfect though because it has a sense of hilarity that is much needed right now in this world. I feel more like I'm releasing a massive art installation than just a bunch of ninety-nine cent songs, and I hope it's received that way.

But I really believe this music is relevant in our time. I'm covering everything from Sci-Fi, super heroes, and sexuality all the way to impossible dreams and crushing regrets. Lyrically, I took a very abstract approach. But despite that fact, I get more concrete meaning from the songs on Zillion than my entire 18 years of songwriting combined. This album was heavily influenced by guys like Prince, Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and Beck. And every thing I make is shaped by my thick lens of rock and roll shaped by the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Frank Zappa.

The album is strong, start to finish. Each song really holds it's own. I poured some blood and sweat into the whole thing. It's not one of those albums that you skip over to the 2 songs that don't suck. You should just hit play and go on the journey. I did release a few singles, but Zillion really talks as a complete body of work. This is how it was intended to be heard. That being said, I would like to revive the "Album" as an institution again. Albums in my opinion are the best way to be immersed in music and I hope they become popular again. This is the first of a long string of albums I plan to release. It's taken me awhile to get here but I intend to keep this train rolling until I'm pushing up daisies."

Track Name: Spaceman
The space monkey
Is eating your spaghetti
Since they hypnotized
Both your eyes with TV
It's you completely nude
With a tube of toothpaste food

You're a spaceman
Waking up a zillion miles away
Oh no
To a flying saucer
Playing records in your brain

All you have is a photograph
A typewriter and rayguns
So you use telepathy
To try to see where it all went wrong
In half an hour your psychic power
Will reach the Earth

You're a spaceman
Waking up a zillion miles away
Oh no
To a flying saucer
Playing records in your brain
Brain brain brain brain

You're a spaceman
Waking up a zillion miles away
Oh no
To a flying saucer
Playing records in your brain
Oh no
You're a spaceman
Waking up a zillion miles away

Oh no
Track Name: Shoulda Coulda Woulda
Tell me would you call her
Tell me would you say
Soon you’ll be a goner
She will get away

So you shoot your gold now
Throw your sun away
Soon you’ll see that true love
Shouldn’t count money

Tyler, should I say hello?
Tyler, sugar didn’t come
Tyler, shoulda coulda woulda found a way
You shoulda found a way
But she got away

So you shoulda called
Tell her what you need
Tell her with a shiner
You shoulda bottled the see

The show in Pensacola
You know you wish you’d seen
True love is a sell out
You shoulda bet on me

Tyler, should I say hello?
Tyler, true love did not wait
Tyler, shoulda coulda woulda found a way
You shoulda found a way
But she got away

Tyler, should I say hello?
Tyler, sugar didn’t stay
Tyler, shoulda coulda woulda found a way
You shoulda bought that ring
But she got away
Track Name: Uncle Ben
Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben you're Gone
Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben you're Gone

Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben you're Gone
Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben you're Gone
You brought me up like I was your own

You got shot by a dimestore thief
Now you're dead in the middle of the street

Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben you're Gone
You're stepping out just to bring me home
After all, after all you've done

You got shot by a dimestore thief
Now you're dead in the middle of the street

Aaah Aaah Aaah Aaah

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na

Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben you're Gone
Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben you're Gone
You brought me up like I was your own

You got shot by a dimestore thief
Now you're dead in the middle of the street
Uncle Ben you're gone and you're never coming back
Track Name: Kiss with the Lights Out
Whisper it to me
One Magnetic key
Thousand hour wheels
Smells like gasoline
Creedance on the floor
Summersault & pepper baby
Purple hair is in
Shooting stars again

If you want to kiss with the lights out, kiss with the lights out
I don’t care if somebody finds out, somebody finds out

Baby girl you know
Beauty fades away
Jumping Jack will stay
But stars don’t shine in the day

Roses aren’t the way
Sonnets aren’t the way
Love songs aren’t for me
Just one magnetic key

If you want to kiss with the lights out, kiss with the lights out
I don’t care if somebody finds out, somebody finds out

If you want to kiss with the lights out, kiss with the lights out
I don’t care if somebody finds out, somebody finds out
Track Name: Naked Girls
Naked girls
Naked girls
Naked girls are all around me

Naked girls
Naked girls
Naked girls are trying to get me

Parking lots
Movie stars
Shopping malls, I don't get far

Through windows
TV screens
Naked girls are looking at me

I will try to get away
But I will never get away from these girls

Naked girls
Naked girls
Naked girls are all I can see

Naked girls
everywhere
naked girls are trying to get me

When they come
I will hide
I will run as fast as a I can

In the streets
In my head
Naked girls are my biggest fan

I will try to get away
But I will never get away from these girls

Parking lots
Movie stars
Shopping malls, I don't get far

Through windows
TV screens
Naked girls are looking at me

La La...

I will try to get away
But I will never get away from these girls

Naked girls
Naked girls
Naked girls are all around me

Naked girls
Naked girls
Naked girls are trying to get me

Naked girls
Naked girls
Naked girls are all around me

Naked girls
Naked girls
Naked girls are trying to get me

Track Name: You Are a Star
Driving down at midnight
White lines burning bright
A hundred miles an hour
Never felt so fucking slow

Neon lights and bibles
Are shining down on you
I know you're gonna make it
Yes you are
Cuz baby you are a star

The golden glow of street lights
Are shining down on you
Magazines and cop cars
Have got you seeing black and blue

Neon lights and bibles
Are shining down on you
I know you're gonna make it
Yes you are
Cuz baby you are a star

You don't want to notice
You don't want to see
Sit down now and listen
This is a sign
A sign

Neon lights and bibles
Are shining down on you
I know you're gonna make it
Yes you are
Cuz baby you are a star

Cuz baby you are a star
Cuz baby you are a star
Track Name: She Can Count the Days
Ten steps back
Back to where she came
She wants back on her feet again
Loosen up your credit cards today
She can't call the same old friends again

Going to California
To play her tambourine
Kissing her tommorrows
She can count the days

Please step back
she's trying to catch the wave
On the dot at 6am today
Punch right through the doomsday prophecy
It's Charlotte's time to find her way

Going to California
To play her tambourine
Kissing her tommorrows
She can count the days

Going to California
To play her tambourine
Kissing her tommorrows
She can count the days

La La La La La

Go to California
Kill them all with kindness
Go kick down your giants
And never come back

Go to California
Kill them all with kindness
Knock it 'till you try it
And never come back

Go to California
Play your tambourine, oh yea
Kiss all your tomorrows
And never come back

She can count the days
She can count the days
Track Name: I Don't Want to Come Home
Ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba

Riding down the street following the voices
Dad said don't come home 'till you find some boys to play with

Well the friends I made play football in the road
With loud guitars they smoke pot when their folks ain't home

I don’t want to
I don’t want to come home
To come home
Home

I got something, I got something to prove
With my drop D band and my brand new black tattoo, oh yea
My ego’s in the sky like a big balloon
Well we go go go and we play to an empty room, oh no

I don’t want to
I don’t want to come home
Home

I don’t want to
I don’t want to come home
To come home right now

Ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba

I don’t want to come home
I don’t want to come home
I don’t want to come home
I don’t want to come home

I don’t want to
I don’t want to come home
To come home right now

Ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Track Name: Going out for a Cigarette
I'm not so sure that he's here for you
This is a fear that you cannot shake
But I'm gonna be there to pick you up
When tears start rolling down your face

Down down burn it
Right right to the ground
I'll be there to fight
No no I don't back down

He's going out for a cigarette
Gone to the store and he won't come back
You're falling over yourself to stay
But I'm gonna wish it all away

Down down burn it
Right right to the ground
I'll be there to fight
No no I don't back down
Down burn it
Right right to the ground
I'll be here to fight
No no I don't back down

I don't back down

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na

Down down burn it
Right right to the ground
I'll be here to fight
No no I don't back down
Down burn it
Right right to the ground
I'll be here to fight
No no I don't back down

I don't back down
